Arteta Fears Fitness Crisis Could Hinder The Gunners' Silverware Quest

Arsenal's manager has voiced fears that his team's pursuit for honors this campaign is being threatened by a worrying cycle of injuries and a grueling fixture list.

There was, on a brighter note, positive news regarding Gabriel Jesus, with the Brazilian forward registered to their Champions League squad. He replaces the injured youngster Max Dowman, who suffered an ankle injury.

"Training, no because we don't have time to train. But clearly the fact that you are missing players, you are loading other players more, there's a consequence to that and it's a truly dangerous circle."

Dowman's issue is the most recent in a long series of fitness problems for the club. Since the start of last season, they have suffered 95 injuries, the second-most total in the English top flight.

Arteta dismissed the suggestion that training intensity were to blame, pointing to a shortage of time for sessions. He emphasized the strain on available players, some of whom have played over 150 games in two seasons.

Even after a significant summer investment exceeding £250 million, Arteta stated the team is unlikely looking to enter the winter recruitment market.

"At the moment we're just focusing on bringing the players back and with luck it will be a matter of weeks," he commented. "It's clear how crucial those weeks are going to be."
