Analysis has uncovered that approximately 90 aircraft journeys connected to Jeffrey Epstein are said to have touched down at and left British airfields, with some reportedly carrying women from the UK who allege they were abused by the convicted sex offender.
The travel manifests were part of a trove of legal papers and papers released by Epstein’s estate that have been released over the last year. The investigation uncovered 87 aircraft movements linked to Epstein – encompassing many that were hitherto undisclosed – coming into or leaving from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed female passengers were listed among the individuals flying to and from the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK happened after Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for procuring prostitution from a child.
“This is ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his operations in the country,” remarked US lawyers representing hundreds of Epstein survivors.
Evidence from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. Yet, that individual has not received any contact by police in the UK, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a statement, the London's Metropolitan Police stated they had “not been provided with any additional evidence that would support reopening the probe.” They commented, “If fresh and pertinent information be brought to our attention, including any resulting from the disclosure of material in the US, we will review it.”
Proposed legislation to disclose every document held by the US government in regarding Epstein was approved by the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of papers are anticipated to be released.
In a related development, a federal judge ruled last week that the DOJ could disclose investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence over the charges.
