Committee
The House investigative committee has made public a batch of approximately 70 images from the estate of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of over 95,000 images the body has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It features pictures of excerpts from the novel Lolita scrawled across a woman's body, and censored pictures of female foreign passports.
This release arrives mere hours before the December 19th deadline for the Justice Department to disclose all documents connected to its inquiry into Epstein.
"These latest photographs bring up more queries about what exactly the Justice Department has in its possession," said the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.
Some of the images made public on recently depict Epstein in discussion with academic and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a personal aircraft; Bill Gates positioned beside a female whose features is censored; Steve Bannon seated at a workstation opposite Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.
Committee
These are the latest wealthy, influential figures to be photographed in Epstein's estate photographs released by the oversight panel - formerly published pictures also depict US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, previous US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.
Appearing in the photos is does not constitute evidence of any wrongdoing, and many of the featured men have stated they were not involved in Epstein's illegal activity.
In a press release issued alongside the photo publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer context or timeframes for the images.
"Images were selected to provide the American people with openness into a representative sample of the photographs received from the property, and to offer insights into Epstein's circle and his extremely troubling actions," the release states.

The publication also includes multiple photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita penned in ink across various areas of a woman's body, like her chest, lower extremity, hipbone, and rear. Lolita narrates the account of a adolescent who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.
One quote from the work scrawled across a female's torso states, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".
The release also contains a series of images of women's passports and official papers from states globally, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Investigative Body
A large portion of the information on the IDs, including names and dates of birth, is obscured but the panel indicated in a press release that the travel documents are associated with "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".
Another photograph features Epstein sitting at a desk closely flanked by three individuals whose features have been redacted - a first has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another is leaning to look at a nearby computer. Epstein can be seen to be assisting the third individual put on a bracelet.
Oversight Panel
A further photo disclosed is a screenshot of digital messages from an unidentified individual who says they have been sent "several females" and are asking for "$$1,000 for each individual".
The body has a vast number of photos in its holdings from the Epstein estate, which are "both graphic and ordinary," its announcement on Thursday noted.
The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the property of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on charges of sex trafficking, in August.
The images and records the Epstein property provided to the body are distinct from what is largely termed "the Epstein files". Those are records under the DOJ's control associated with its own inquiry into Epstein.
Under the Transparency Act, which the President made law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to publish its files. The extent of the contents included in the DOJ's records is unclear, and it's probable that a significant portion of the material will be extensively redacted, akin to the committee's materials
