Former BBC Advisers Participate in MPs' Questioning Following Assertions of Partiality in Disclosed Memo

We start with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, who oversees the panel.

She initiates by giving details to the disclosed memo written by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.

"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning toward one side or the other, I just want it neutral, impartial and equitable," he says.

In response to a query if he considers the BBC is structurally prejudiced, the adviser responds: "No, I do not. To be clear, numerous aspects the BBC creates is world class - encompassing factual and entertainment shows."

However, he continues: "There is real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another previous consultant BBC consultant interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the BBC with great importance and that it maintains a "persistent practice and active debate" on fluid and multifaceted topics.

"Was the BBC willing to have a thorough conversation and argument and take action?" she questions. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
